About

Emily R. Mouilso, PhD, ABPP

Board-certified clinical psychologist. She helps therapists and clinics do the hard parts of the work well: treating trauma, supervising carefully and making sound ethical decisions.

Dr. Emily Mouilso is a licensed psychologist in Georgia and is board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Georgia, where she directs the Psychology Clinic and serves as Associate Director of Clinical Training for the doctoral program in clinical psychology.

Her clinical roots are in trauma. She trained at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center in Charleston, then completed a fellowship at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, where she treated veterans and set up a new co-located psychology clinic on a unit that had never had embedded behavioral health care.

Since 2015 she has run the clinic that serves her program's clinical doctoral training program, which means she spends her days on the questions clinicians actually face: which treatment fits, how to supervise it, and what the right thing to do is when the answer is not obvious. When her clinic moved to telehealth in 2020 she chose the secure technology and wrote the consent and crisis procedures. She's also developed policies on telesupervision and the use of artificial intelligence in the clinic to meet accreditation, legal and professional requirements.

Dr. Mouilso teaches graduate-level courses related to ethics, supervision, and empirically-supported adult intervention. She has served on the Georgia Psychological Association's Ethics Committee since 2021, providing ethics consultation and ethics workshops. She is an exam chair and on the Board of Directors for the Behavioral and Cognitive specialty board at ABPP. Dr. Mouilso is also a site visitor for the American Psychological Association's Commission on Accreditation.

She runs Chai Wellness with her husband, Eric Linder, who builds its apps.
